Chicago police say three people have been killed and at least 30 others have been hurt in shootings across the city so far this weekend. In the only fatal shooting of the weekend reported so far, a group of five men were standing outside of a residence at around 6 p.m. Friday near the 3300 block of South Vernon Avenue when a someone in a vehicle drove by and fired multiple shots, police said. After sustaining multiple gunshots throughout his body, a 33-year-old was transported to Mount Sinai hospital, where he later died. Two victims, 33 and 34, were hit in the leg and transported to hospitals in good condition. A 31-year-old was struck in the arm and abdomen, and a 56-year-old was wounded in the shoulder and buttocks. Both were taken to hospitals in good condition, as well. Police said an investigation is underway, as no one is in custody. At approximately 11:47 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of West 89th Street, two men were standing outside when they were both struck by gunfire. Police say a 22-year-old man was shot in the face, neck and chest, and he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A 43-year-old man was struck in the back, and he was listed in serious condition at a nearby hospital. Police say no suspects are in custody at this time. Chicago police say a 21-year-old man was standing in the 4700 block of South Union Avenue at approximately 12:37 a.m. Sunday when he was shot multiple times, according to police. The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No suspects are in custody, and Chicago police are investigating. According to police, he was taken to an area hospital in good condition.At approximately 3:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Sacramento, a man approached two individuals and opened fire. A 22-year-old woman was shot in the leg, and a 19-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to her leg, and both were listed in good condition at area hospitals, police said.Police say a 29-year-old man was walking through an alley in the 5500 block of South Wolcott at approximately 5:07 a.m. when he was shot in the calf. He was taken to an area hospital, where his condition has stabilized.
